Hilary Steel, MSAI

Illustrator

I trained at Brighton University studying Architectural Design and achieved a BA (hons) and Dip Arch in 1980’s. After my training I worked in architectural offices using both drawing boards and computers but also spent a lot of spare time on a drawing board at home producing drawings for pleasure and sometimes for commission.

I use a combinations of pencil, ink, coloured pencils, and watercolour to render my work.

I have successfully exhibited at four of the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition, and received Commendations from the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects a couple of times. The Kensington Trio which is one of my attached jpgs is an example of one of these.

I am also a member art clubs more local to me so I can take part in exhibitions when they are on.

Being able to make an illustration of a building for a forthcoming exhibition or simply as an enjoyment, showing beautiful details which are frequently unseen by many does give me much pleasure.
