David Talbot, MSAI

Illustrator

Since graduating from Solent University I spent a decade working for a property marketing company producing artist impressions for property developers and illustrated maps for travel guides. During this time I developed my artistic and technical ability and was grateful for the help my fellow colleagues gave me at that time.

In 2007 the market changed and so I became a freelance architectural illustrator specialising in artist impressions, 3D aerial site plans, house portraits, and interior views. I have, over the years, had a steady trickle of work both from large house builders and individual clients and have enjoyed providing architectural illustrations for them on every occasion.

I work in watercolour with illustrations drawn up first in one or two point perspective in pencil. Any fine tuning or re-touching is done in photoshop before the work is sent to the client. I love the process of bringing 2D plans to life and giving non visual clients an image which helps them understand their own projects.
