After many years as an engineering consultant, during which I was involved in writing specifications and completing working drawings for clients, it was a natural progression to begin sketching buildings in liaison with architects. I had further illustration experience with an extended stay in Toronto, Canada, which culminated in a commission for McDonalds restaurants there. Returning to the UK I opened a gallery in Surrey gaining commissions from clients such as Holiday Inn and Debenhams. I am a traditional artist in that I sketch using artist’s pens and then may add watercolour or vice versa. I particularly enjoy drawing buildings emphasising perspective and shadow. I recently published a book on the Architecture of Bath.
