My background is both in fine art, and as a senior Urban Designer and Landscape Architect. My main area of interest is the understanding of place, the qualities and elements that create the look and feel of a location. Sketches expressed through line, texture and colour attempt to capture qualities of place, existing or as yet unrealised: Feel, flavour, mood, identity.

I sketch by hand both with a digital tablet and with pen and pencil on trace and paper. Where accuracy is important a 3d model is created to use as a base. Illustrations can be quick and vague with an emphasis on mood, or detailed rendered drawings of a resolved scheme.
